Abstract

1,167,499. Piles. BERMINGHAM CONSTRUCTION Ltd. July 13, 1967 [Aug. 16, 1966], No.32262/67. Heading E1H. Two pre-cast cylindrical concrete pile sections 10, 11, section 10 having an end provided with a hollow female tubular extension 14 and section 11 having a cylindrical male extension 15 which is tightly nestable within extension 14, are locked by an annular groove in one extension and a corresponding annular projection in the other, the annular projection being arranged for permanently locked reception within the annular groove when the male extension is driven into the hollow female extension by a blow from a pile driver. In the embodiment shown the projection 18 is on the male extension 15.
