Abstract
1,166,464. Electro-photographic development. RANK XEROX Ltd. Oct. 14, 1966, No. 46097/66. Heading G2H. Latent electrostatic images on a drum 2 are developed by cascading a developer powder consisting of a toner and carrier through a chute 1 onto the drum, the chute being electrically conducting and having applied thereto a potential which is opposite to that of the electrostatic latent images and is of such magnitude as to reduce the background density of the developed image. An electrode 20 also at a potential opposite to that of the image may be positioned adjacent the area of the drum to which developer is applied.
