Abstract

1,162,426. Dynamo-electric machines. SIEMENS A.G. 23 Jan., 1967 [21 Jan., 1966], No. 3395/67. Heading H2A. A two-pole rotor has a core 3 with an exciter coil 4 mounted on it and laminated polepieces 5. A damper winding (13) having end connections 14 which secure the laminations together axially and are interconnected by bars 33 recessed within the core and lying within the coil. Stub shafts 1a, 1b are attached by flanges 2 to the ends of core 3 and these flanges are recessed to surround the coil and the connections to the coil are made through a bore in shaft 1b. The coil is secured by light alloy plates 10 lying in the interpolar gap and provided with screws which pass through the split coil 4. Cooling fan blades 17 may be provided on end flanges 2. In a modification, Figs. 3-8 (not shown), the coil may be wound on a former made of copper or aluminium which also serves to interconnect the damper winding end rings.
