Abstract

1,162,405. Mobile lifting equipment. MOBILE LIFTING SERVICES Ltd. 16 Aug., 1968 [26 Aug., 1967], No. 39354/67. Heading B8B. Lifting equipment comprises a beam with end portions 11 attached to the jibs 5 of two similar mobile cranes and with a centre portion 37 forming a portal. Each end portion 11 is part of an end fitting 9 which comprises an attachment frame 10 and universal pivotal connection 12. Each end portion 11 carries an anchor point 25 for a derrick rope 6 on an outrigger 23 and pulleys 26, 27 for a lifting rope 7 which passes to a pulley block 28. The equipment is assembled by lifting the jibs 5, complete with the end fittings 9 in the conventional manner, temporary, adjustable stays 31 being fitted. The centre portion 37 is then lifted into position using a third crane (not shown) and brackets 38 and pins 38 inserted by a man in a bosun's chair (not shown).
