Abstract

1,160,579. Root-crop harvesters. F. A. UNDERHAUGS FABRIK. 1 March, 1967, No. 54927/66. Heading A1F. In a root-crop harvester, of the type wherein material dug by a share 1 is impelled laterally by a spinner 2 to fall on to the lower end of a conveyer belt 4, a circular rotary transfer member 3 bridges the gap between the share and the belt, the member being either a disc or a spider, and movable means are provided for deflecting the crop on to the conveyer. In Fig. 1 this means comprises a small wheel 5 revolving just above the disc so as to permit dirt to pass thereunder. In Fig. 4 the deflecting means comprises an endless slat-conveyer 6 the surface of which facing the oncoming crop travels upwardly. In Fig. 6 the deflector comprises a belt 11 running parallel with the surface of the transfer member 3 which, in this construction, is gridded.
