997,158. Root-crop harvesters. F. A. UNDERHAUGS FABRIK. June 17, 1964 [June 20, 1963], No. 25148/64. Heading A1F. A potato harvester comprises a share 1 and a substantially vertical spinner 2 rotatable about a longitudinal axis to convey the excavated material from the share to a transverse conveyer 3 across a grating 4, 5 mounted between the share and the conveyer and a rotating disc-cutter 9 mounted in alignment with the share on the side adjacent to the conveyer, wherein the grating is divided into two parts 4, 5 by a channel 7 which affords a clear passage to the conveyer for roots and haulms sliding along the leading edge 8 of the share. The disc-cutter is driven by bevel-gearing 12 from the axle 11 of the spinner and has a cylindrical drum surrounding its axle.
