[Also in Division E2] A box comprises upper and lower sections 14, 12, Fig. 2, which are interconnected by a wire 40 with a portion 46 torsionally stressed by movement of the sections so that the box is held positively both in the display position shown and in closed position. As shown the wire hinge is of generally rectangular outline and is held, but can rotate, in the curved fingers 54, 58, of brackets 52, and (56) (Fig. 1, not shown), which are spot-welded to the top and base of the sections 14, 12, respectively. End sections 48, 50, of the wire are bent inwardly, normal to the upper side of the rectangle, and are clamped in a portion 60 of the bracket 56 thereby inducing a torque in the hinge which locks the box when either opened or closed. An insert 62 acts as a guide to the rear wall of the lower section 12 during opening and a further insert 76, holds the packaged article. A tongue 72, of a member 68, engages in an opening 74 in the section 12 when the box is closed. As a modification portions of the top and base of sections 14, 12, may be partially cut and bent over to form integral retaining fingers for the hinge, and the hinge itself may be of rectangular or square cross-section( Fig. 11, not shown) and may be retained in separate brackets and clamped by a bracket (128) on its upper portion. The side walls of the upper section 14 may have an inward flange (86), Fig. 7, to act as a guide instead of the insert 62.
