Abstract

1,158,623. Break spinning; stop motions. VYZKUMNY USTAV BAVLNARSKY. 21 July, 1966 [19 March, 1966], No. 32862/66. Heading D1D. A yarn breakage sensing device in a breakspinning machine having an under-pressure chamber 3 has a lever 19, 20, 21, 22 one of whose arms 19 normally bears on the yarn 4 between the delivery channel 16 and a guide 18, has a permanent magnet 26 for operating a relay 25 when yarn breakage occurs, and secures the broken end e.g. against a resilient block 30, an arm 22 of the lever being exposed to a permanent magnet 24 to assist in the securing action: an electromagnet 23 is provided which when energised pulls the lever from its yarn securing position, past the yarn sensing position and when the break has been corrected is de-energised to allow the lever to return to its sensing position. Operation of relay 25 causes a signal lamp 28 to be illuminated and a pulse to be sent to a control device 13 to stop the drive 8 of the rollers feeding sliver to the separator 2. After a short interval, the control device reverses the direction in which the withdrawing-rollers 6 and the spool 7 are rotated. Electromagnet 23 is simultaneously energized to attract arm 21 connected to the lever, and overcoming the attraction of magnet 24, to release the yarn from the clamp and return the lever to sensing-position. With the reversal of the rollers 7 and 6, a length of yarn is fed back towards the chamber 3. When the yarn has failed through interruption of spinning, rotation of the spinning chamber is restarted when the piercing-length is being fed back; in the case of a break the spinning- chamber has continued to rotate throughout the operation described. In both cases, the length of yarn is sucked on to the collecting surface of the chamber by the reduced pressure prevailing in the chamber, and' tensioned. When this action has been completed, the drive 8 to the sliver feed-rollers is restarted and the drives 14, 15 are restored to their original directions so that spinning restarts. To ensure that the device can operate when spinning stops through power failure, an auxiliary source of power is provided.
