Abstract
1,155,929. Advancing mine roof supports. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. 20 March, 1967 [18 June, 1966], No. 12959/67. Heading E1P. Means for robbing i.e. releasing hydraulic props 1, 2 prior to advancement by a hydraulic motor 9 whilst props 3, 4 remain set and vice-versa comprises a non-return valve 12, 14, 16, 18 in each line b connecting the upper end of each prop to its associated conventional distributing valve 5, 6, 7, 8 and opening towards its associated prop, a blocking valve 11, 13, 15, 17 by-passing its associated non-return valve 12, 14, 16, 18 a control line c, e extending from valves 11, 13 and leading to a further blocking valve 20 openable by pressure in the setting line a of prop 4 to admit pressure in setting line a of prop 3 through said valve 20 to lines e, c for opening of valves 11, 13 resulting in pressure in line b passing to upper chamber 4 of props 1, 2, a similar control line c, e extending from valves 15, 17 and leading to a further blocking valve 19 openable by pressure in the setting line a of prop 1 to admit pressure in setting line a of prop 2 through said valve 19 and lines e, c for opening of valves 15, 17 resulting in pressure in lines b of props 3, 4. Fluid expelled from the lower chamber Y of props being released e.g. props 1, 2 passes through non-return valves 25, 26 held open by pressure in branches b' of lines b of said props 1, 2. To displace the piston of cylinder 9 downwards when props 1, 2 are released and props 3, 4 are set, a conventional distribution valve 10 is moved from its neutral position to the right whereon a pressure line m is connected to a line p leading to the upper end of cylinder 9. Pressure in line m is derived from the pressurized setting line a of prop 3 through a line d and valve 20 which is held open by pressure in line a of prop 4, lines e, f, the R.H. member of a double non- return valve 21, lines g, g", a non-return valve 30 held open by pressure admitted to the R.H.S. of a locking valve 24 from line a of prop 4, a branch h thereof, a non-return valve 23 and a line k. With props 1, 2 released and props 3, 4 set the piston may be displaced upwardly by switching valve 10 and the piston may be similarly actuated when props 1, 2 and set and props 3, 4 released.
