A transducer for measuring angular displacement comprising 2-phase stator windings 4 Fig. 3 and a single phase rotor winding 5 has the stator windings fed with non-sinusoidal quadrature voltages, preferably rectangular. The rotor voltage is fed through a filter 6 producing a constant amplitude, sinusoidal voltage of the fundamental frequency whose phase is indicative of the angular position of the rotor.
