[Also in Division H2] A closure plug or grommet for the lead opening of an electrical fitting comprises a resilient body which can be forced into the opening in wall 1, the body having a central perforable diaphragm 7 for receiving the insulated lead, and smaller diaphragms 8 arranged circumferentially around diaphragm 7 (Fig. 2, not shown) for receiving alternatively the individual insulated conductors of the lead. Modifications are described in which two or more of the larger diaphragms are provided, each being surrounded by a set of smaller diaphragms. 1,154,931. Valves. In a pinch cock, a horizontally extending cylindrical housing 1 has at one end a vertically extending socket 6, through which a flexible tube 7 passes, and houses a piston 8 which is spring- biased towards the tube but movable away from it by a hand lever 16. At the end nearest the tube, the piston has a reduced portion 13 followed by an enlarged portion 12, both these portions serving to anchor a horizontal pressure bar 10 in a way which ensures axial movement of the bar with the plunger whilst allowing the plunger to rotate independently of the bar. The rate of flow through the tube is dependent upon the degree of engagement between the bar and the tube, which in turn is determined by the angular disposition of the handle 16 relative to the piston 8, e.g., with the handle lying perpendicularly to the piston, the latter, and hence the pressure bar, is fully extended towards the tube and so flow through the tube is closed off, whereas when the handle is turned through 90 degrees from this position, the piston and bar are fully retracted and maximum flow through the tube resumed, all intermediate positions of the handle also being possible.
