Abstract

1,153,862. Wafering crops. ALVAN BLANCH DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. 5 Sept., 1966 [3 June, 1965], No. 23625/65. Heading A2B. A machine for producing pellets or cubes from chopped or coarsely ground moist grass comprises intermeshing toothed gear wheels 1, 2, each wheel having die holes 3 between the teeth and extending to a passage in the wheel which passage leads to a delivery shoot 8, and a feed hopper 4 extending at least over the upper periphery of one wheel from the nip to a position vertically above its axis of rotation. The bars extruded through the dies 3 break into pellets. The flow of pellets through the shoots 8 may be controlled by flaps. The pellets may be dried. The machine may be mounted on a mobile grass cutter, which may also have a chopper or mill for chopping or grinding the cut grass.
