1151505 Electronic counters PLESSEY CO Ltd 8 Aug 1966 [13 Aug 1965] 34774/65 Headings G4D D7X D6Y D6C1 and D6C2 The dividing ratio of a frequency-divider can vary by one from one cycle to another whereby over a given number of cycles the effective ratio includes a fraction. The several denominations 1-5 of a decimal counter are set to count to predetermined digits, the attainment of its digit by the highest denomination 5 operating a reset stage 6 for the next denomination 4 and so on down to the lowest reset stage 6 which additionally issues an output pulse. The output of one of the reset stages 6 is also fed to a pre-set binary-coded decimal counter 9 which is arranged to issue from 0-9 pulses, each of which inhibits gate 8 so that the input from 7 is effectively reduced. The dividing ratio is thereby increased by this decimal fraction.
