Abstract

1,151,259. Earth-excavating machines. POCLAIN. 30 Oct., 1967 [24 Nov., 1966], No. 49123/67. Heading E1F. An excavating tool is supported from the jib of an excavator through an orientatable rotary coupling. The coupling comprises a central shaft 3 having at the upper end means 4 for attaching it to the jib. To the lower end of the shaft is secured the housing 25 of a motor 27, which causes through an epicyclic gear 28 rotation of a casing 36 mounted on the housing 25. To the casing 36 is secured the tool, which may be a grab, bucket or scoop.
