Abstract
1,144,878. Moulding concrete &c. VSESO JUZNY GOSUDARSTVENNY PROEKTNY INSTITUT " TEPLOELEKTROPROEKT." 15 March, 1966, No. 11248/66. Heading B5A. A concrete &c. block having smooth end walls perpendicular to its axis is cast in a mould comprising a base (1), removable side panels (2), and end panels, each end panel being composed of a wall 6 secured to the base and a detachable facing wall 3 secured to the wall 5 by screws 18 and lock-nuts 21. The walls 3 and 5 interengage along inclined surfaces formed on wedge-shaped parts 4 and 6, the former being integral with the wall 3, and the latter being secured in a vertically adjustable manner to the wall 5 by bolts. Before casting, the walls 3 are removed from the mould by the use of eye-bolts 15, and fitted to the ends of a reinforcing framework which is then placed in the mould and the assembly secured by the screws 18; a cover 16 is then applied to each end wall and held by bolts. Concrete is then supplied to the mould which is vibrated and heated in a steam chamber. Lugs 14 on the walls 3 provide spaces for the ends of bars which extend from the cast block to be welded to similar bars of similar blocks. The mould includes inserted elements (8) to provide holes through the casting, jigs (9) to secure vertical reinforcements, and inserts (7) for forming part of a concrete column.
