Abstract
1,013,765. Moulding panels. R. WEHINGHER. April 2, 1963 [April 7, 1962; Jan. 28, 1963], No. 12997/63. Heading B5A. Plaster panels are moulded in a box comprising a series of vertical chambers, which are tapered slightly towards their lower ends, formed by thick glass partitions 1 and transverse glass walls 3. The partitions 1 are separated by U-shaped members 2, to which they are bolted by bolts 6, which members are strengthened by transverse members 9. Flexible inserts of, e.g. rubber, blotting paper &c., are interposed between the cheeks 8 of the members 2 and the wall 1 (see Fig. 4, not shown). Inserts 7 of stainless hardened steel, as in Fig. 1, are provided to form tongues or grooves on the sides of the finished panels. The mould bottom during moulding comprises glass members 3a, carrying inserts 7, which may be vertically reciprocated within the chambers by rams 4 operating through members 10 and 5. The gypsum is poured into the mould and a grid 16 comprising cross members 15 and inserts 14 (see Fig. 3, not shown) placed upon the upper surface of the material. After the gypsum has set the grid is removed and the rams raised to eject the finished panels.
