Abstract
1,144,526. Knitting-machines. WILDT MELLOR BROMLEY Ltd. 5 Feb., 1968 [24 Feb., 1967], No. 8906/67. Heading D1C. A pattern wheel mounted in an inclined manner to elevate the jacks or needles of a circular machine comprises an interchangeable disc or discs 32, 33 each of which is provided with notched edge whereby a series of frangible teeth is presented to the knitting instruments to raise them according to the set up of the teeth on the discs. The body 10 of the wheel is rotatably mounted on a bush 12 and houses a series of bits in slots on the body which serve to interengage with the instruments to cause the wheel's rotation. Either one or two notched discs may be secured on the body and the discs and bits are clamped in position by top and bottom bottom plates 28, 35. The length of the teeth in the discs may be different and in the case of two discs being mounted on the body are beneath the other with a spacer in between, the needles can be raised to knit or tuck height according to the disc engaged or remain at recess height if they are not engaged by either disc.
