1,144,221. Rotor balancing computer. LOSENHAUSENWERK DUSSELDORFER MASCHINENBAU A.G. 16 March, 1966 [2 April, 1965], No. 11559/66. Heading G4G. In a machine for balancing rotors carried on bearings, with transducers producing electric signals representing unbalance reactions in the bearing planes, an analog computing circuit (Fig. 1) comprising impedances R 11 , R 12 , R 13 , R 21 , R 22 , R 23 receives the outputs of bearing reaction transducers at terminals 1, 3 and a reference input voltage at terminal 2 to produce at terminals 4, 5, 6 a reference output voltage and balancing voltage signals representing matter to be removed, for equilibrium, in two predetermined balancing planes. The latter are displaced a and c from the respective bearing planes and b from each other where a + b + c = 1; while the impedances may be ohmic, or complex given by R e <SP>i</SP># having a similar angle at the working frequency. It is shown that where k is positive and <b/l, and a and c are positive. The network is proportioned to represent a specific rotor and assembled on a printed circuit panel, interchangeable by switching or plug and socket with other networks representing different rotors. A similar interchangeable network (Figs. 2, 3, not shown) represents rotors measurable and balanceable in three planes, e.g. divided universally jointed shafts.
