[Also in Division H1] A motor vehicle with an automatic gearchanging device comprising a system for overriding the operating elements 103, 104, 105 such as for fuel supply, braking and steering at the main driving position from a second driving position wherein each operating element at the main driving position is operatively connected to a servo-control device 200, 300, 400 drivable with auxiliary power and a controller 500 at the second driving position is arranged for controlling the servo-devices. As shown, in a tank or other heavy endless track vehicle, the control elements 103, 104, 105 are connected by linkages 108, 109, 110 to the fuel supply, braking and steering mechanism of the vehicle and are either operated by a driver at the main driving position when the controller 500 is inoperative or by electric servomotors in the similar respective servo-control devices 200, 300, 400 when the controller 500 is operative. Closing of a switch 501 by gripping of the grip 522 of the handle 521 of the controller 500 engages a clutch 207 between each motor 201 and shaft 203 on which the control element is mounted and applies to the motor an electrically releasable brake 208 in series with the motor thereby preventing operation of the control elements by the driver at the main driving position. Movement from the neutral position of the handle 521 in the direction F operates micro-switches to actuate the servomotor to successively increase the fuel supply in steps or in the opposite direction to F operates microswitches to apply partial or full braking: rotation of the handle 521 about the axis of the shaft 530 actuates the steering servomotor. The stepwise action of the control elements is controlled by switches actuated by cam-plates 211 to 214 on shafts 203, 202 geared to the motors. On the side of the controller is a handle (526), (Fig. 10, not shown) by which forward or reverse motion or neutral is obtained associated with an interlock (527/529) which prevents movement of the handle unless the handle 521 is in the brake applied position. The driver normally controls the automatic gear-change through a control 700 which is locked in position when the controller 500 is in use. A " kickdown " switch 525 is provided on the controller. The vehicle may be controlled through a wireles receiver 810 from a wireless transmitter 850.
