Abstract

1,137,996. Bending tubes. CRAWFORD FITTING CO. 11 April, 1967 [30 Sept., 19661, No. 16504/67. Heading B3E. A tube-bending tool comprises a rotatable tube bending mandrel, and elongated bar attached to the mandrel for rotation therewith and a tube abutment block adjustably carried by a supporting member adjustably attached by clamping jaws to said elongated bar. A tube T is bent around a grooved mandrel 13 rotated by a pinion 16, the tube bearing against a grooved roller 18, coaxial with the pinion, and being held on to the mandrel 13 by a hook 21 pivoted on a bar 20 secured to the mandrel. Also on the bar 20 an adjustable clamp 30 carries a rod 32 in turn carrying an adjustable clamp 33. The clamp 33 carries a tube abutment block 35 which is adapted to receive the bent end of a length of tubing in which a second bend in another plane is to be made. In a modification, Fig. 4, a clamp 50 on the rod 20 carries a supporting member 53 rotatably adjustable on a rod 52. The member 53 in turn carries a support 56 rotatably adjustable about a rod extending from the member 53. The support 56 is formed with a slot 58 parallel to this latter rod along which slot is adjustable R tube abutment block 60.
