Abstract

1,135,222. Cycle suspension systems. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. Ltd. 4 July, 1966 [8 June, 1965], No. 24108/65. Heading B7E. A telescopic strut 12 enclosing a coil spring and incorporating hydraulic shock absorbers is pivoted at 14 to a cycle frame and at 11 to an arm 8 pivoted at its other end to the frame. A rear wheel spindle 7 is mounted in a slotted lug 17 secured to the tube 18 so that the spindle 7 moves substantially along the line AA which is an arc of a circle having its centre on the driving shaft axis 10. The complete suspension comprises two linkages as shown secured together to embrace the wheel.
