1,132,598. Band clamps. WILLIAM R. SELWOOD Ltd. 23 Nov., 1966 [23 Nov., 1965], No. 49619/65. Heading E2B. A band clamp having its ends crossed and extended to form tangential arms 6, 14 has bushes or the like 7, 4 secured to the arms, at least one of which, 4, is threaded onto a bolt 5 by which the arms can be forced apart to contract the clamp. As shown, one of the arms 14 is bifurcated and embraces the other, and the bolt, which has a hole 13 for a tommy bar, has a reduced-diameter end portion which extends through a hole in the bush 7 and a washer 12 is burred over to retain the bolt. A number of bands may be provided with their ends secured to bars carrying one or more sets of clamping means.
