Abstract

1,013,352. Band clips. CALDMORE TOOLS Ltd. Oct. 28, 1964 [Nov. 1, 1963], No. 43122/63. Heading E2B. A band clip comprises in combination a pair of abutments 10, 11 a band 12 interconnecting the abutments, the band and the abutments being moulded integrally with each other from a synthetic resin material and the band being stretched without breakage beyond the yield point after moulding, and adjusting means 15 operative upon said abutments. The stretching of the band beyond the yield point ensures that when in use there is little or no stretching of the band until the yield point is reached during tightening after which continued tightening will cause the band to break. In the construction shown the adjusting means is a screw which is engaged with a screw threaded hole in the abutment 10 and the band adjacent the abutment 10 is formed with a V shaped aperture through which the abutment 11 is passed in use to be engaged by the tip of the screw threaded bolt 15. The band as shown is provided with lateral ribs 13 but these can be omitted if desired. In a modification two bands interconnect the abutments.
