Abstract

1,130,335. I.C. engines. H. WESLAKE. Oct. 26, 1965 [Oct. 26, 1964], No. 43582/64. Heading F1B. In an I. C. engine having a combustion recess 25 in each piston 24 and two inlet ports 17, 18, a fuel injector and at least one outlet port in the cylinder head 10, the inlet ports and fuel injector are disposed on one side of a plane containing the axis of the engine cylinder and the outlet port on the other side of the plane. A projection 19 is provided on the cylinder head between one of the inlet ports and the outlet port. The inner face of the cylinder head may be pent house shaped, domed or flat. The inlet and outlet passages may be substantially Venturi-shaped as described in Specification 700, 364.
