Abstract

1,128,893. Humus. KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO K.K. 11 Jan., 1966 [11 Jan., 1965 (2)], No. 1272/66. Heading C1B. An aqueous mixture of saccharide-containing material and mineral acid is heated to a temperature of 100-200‹ C. in a pressure vessel. The humus-containing product may be washed, or mixed with fertilizer material, and then dried. The saccharide-containing material may consist of or be derived from glucose, fructose, galactose, pentose, arabinose, sugar cane, starch, cellulose, pentosan, waste molasses, fermentation spent liquor, beet, wheat, soybean or rapeseed. The acid may be sulphuric, hydrochloric or phosphoric acid. Fertilizers specified are apatite, calcium phosphate, superphosphate, triple superphosphate, potassium chloride, potassium sulphate, urea and ammonia.
