Abstract

1,127,125. Paper-making. KIMBERLYCLARK CORP. 29 Oct., 1965 [4 Dec., 1964], No. 45957/65. Addition to 1,030,900. Heading D2A. Paper stock is directed into a tapering cavity between an endless felt loop and an endless loop of a paper-web forming fabric - for example a Fourdrinier wire -, the felt and fabric then passing around a convex external surface with the fabric outermost so that water is removed from the web under the effects of centrifugal force and the fabric tension. The convex surface is formed by a roll or by a curved plate whose radius of curvature may decrease in the downstream direction. The felt preferably has a backing plate in the region of the tapering cavity.
