Abstract

1,125,818. Wells &c. SOC ANON: SOC. AUXILIAIRE DES PRODUCTEURS DE PETROLE "FLOPETROL". 1 Dec., 1966 [11 Dec., 1965; 8 Nov., 1966], No. 53929/66. Heading E1F. Wire-lining apparatus for subaqueous wells comprises a housing 3 fixed to well-head 2 and having a lubricator 4 rigid therewith, the housing containing a wire-line 6 reeled on drum 5 and passing out through stuffing box 12 to enter the top of lubricator 4 in liquid-tight manner where it carries conventional measuring, supervising, cleaning instruments &c. The winch is driven by hydraulic motor 44 controlled from the surface by signals via electrical conductor 18. The hydraulic pressure fluid is supplied 'by electrically-driven pumps 41. Pulley 54 may be oscillated vertically by motor 53 to jar the wire-line, and pulley 7 is oscillated along screw 52 to wind the wire-line evenly on the drum. Blow-out preventer 15 is controlled by electrically-activated valve 28, and may be manually controlled by pump 34.
