Abstract

1,123,733. Turn-bolts. BOLKOW G.m.b.H. 2 May, 1966 [6 May, 1965], No. 19289/66. Heading E2A. A turn bolt fastener 6 comprises a lever 9 mounted on a screw threaded part 8 of a rotatable screw 7 for linear movement along the screw threaded part 8 upon rotation of the screw and urged by a spring 18 into a fastening position, rotation of the screw in one direction causing the lever 9 to pivot against the action of the spring to an inoperative position and rotation of the screw in the opposite direction causing the lever 9 to move along the screw threaded part into its fastening position, continued rotation of the screw then moving the parts 12, 5 to be fastened into close engagement. As shown, the parts 12, 5 are a unit carrying electronic components slidable in a rack, respectively, the lever 9 of the fastener cooperating in the fastening position with an abutment 23 on the rack 5. The lever 9 is slotted to engage a spring 24 as the unit is entered into the rack and is freed therefrom by initial rotation of the screw to allow the lever to pivot towards the fastening position by the spring 18.
