Abstract

A timber beam structure incorporating a corner joint is formed by glued together layers, depicted successively in Figs. 2-5, in which Fig. 2 shows one of the two outer layers, Fig. 5 shows the centre layer and Figs. 3, 4 show intermediate layers. The various layers include plywood panels 3, 8, 9, 16 with associated planks 4-7 and 10-15, the panel's outer lamination having a grain running in the longitudinal direction of the beam. The beam structure provides a main vertical section (1) and a short section to receive a further beam (2).
