Abstract

1,118,130. Storage systems. CONSTRUCTIONS MILLS - K. 16 Dec., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965], No. 56520/66. Heading A4T. A storage device comprises a supporting framework of uprights (7, 8) and bracing members (5, 6, 9-13) for a. plurality of platform frames 1-4 which incline downwardly from the rear 14 to the front 15 of the device to gravity feed articles in files to the front of the device. Each platform is supported on the convex bearing faces 26 of brackets 23 hooked into selected slots 22-24 formed along the length of the uprights (7, 8). Further brackets 30, similar to the brackets 25, are hooked into selected slots 28, 29 in the side members 16 of the platform frames so that their convex bearing surfaces engage the rear walls of the front uprights (8) to act as stops preventing forward movement of the platforms. The platforms may carry T, L or I section rails with polished or plastics covered surfaces on which the articles are slidably supported. Alternatively the articles are supported on wheels or rollers carried by the platforms. A front end cross member 21 of the platform frame forms a stop to arrest forward movement of the articles. A hand operated ejector lever (71a, 71b, Fig. 17) may be mounted beneath the cross-member 21 to lift the leading end of the foremost article over the cross-member 21 to facilitate removal. Alternatively. the cross-member 21 carries a pair of outwardly projecting arms. (72; Fig. 18) supporting an adjustably inclined article receiving tray (75).
