Abstract
885,905. Conveyer systems. TISS-METAL LIONEL-DUPONT & CIE. July 15, 1960 [July 18, 1959], No. 24766/60. Class 104 (2). In an automatic device for stopping trolleys A, B, C in a storage zone and in which the trolleys are driven by retractable driving dogs 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>2</SP> on an endless chain spring-loaded detent levers 5, 5<SP>1</SP> are mounted in the path of the trolleys one behind the other on the conveyer framework so as to be able to turn about spindles 8 and are so arranged that the slopping of one of the trolleys A in front of a detent lever 5 causes the lever 5 to stop a succeeding trolley B which in turn causes a following lever to stop a following trolley. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the trolleys A, B, C are mounted on wheels 2 and are provided with guide wheels 3. The retractable driving dogs 4 have inclined leading faces 4a, 4<SP>1</SP>a, 4<SP>2</SP>a which cause the dogs 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, 4<SP>2</SP> to ride over the trolley driving stop 1a, 1b, 1c in the event of the trolleys A, B, C being stopped. The detent levers 5 are mounted between flanges of a channel member 9 bolted to uprights 17, Fig. 4, which can be adjusted relative to the vertical, by adjusting screws 22 and bolts 21 to move the levers 5 towards or away from the path of trolleys running on angled rails 16. The leading trolley A, Fig. 5b, on being stopped by a retractable stop member 23, pivots the lever 5 which lever 5 engages the rear guide wheel 3 of the trolley A, by means of a recessed portion 6, to stop rearward movement of the trolley A and at the same time moves a heel portion 7 into position to block forward movement of the succeeding trolley 3.
