Abstract
1,113,561. Fluid blast switches. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 20 July, 1965 [5 Aug., 1964], No. 31733/64. Heading H1N. A circuit breaker generally as described in Specification 1,018,001 has a resilient diaphragm (80) separating the insulating fluid in the arc quenching chamber (9) from that within the column insulator (7) preventing fouling of the latter by the arc. The two quantities of oil &c. may be of different types suitable to their different duties. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the contacts are operated by the pressure increase in the oil as described in Specification 1,027,399.
