Abstract

1,110,628. Movable fulcrum for spring- boards. R. C. RUDE. 6 July, 1966 [24 Sept., 1965], No. 30316/66. Heading A6M. A movable fulcrum for springboards consists of a drum 15 mounted in a cradle which bears slidably on two rails 24 which are part of the base. Movement is affected by turning the drive wheel 20 which is directly connected to and rotates the drum 15. The top of the drum bears against the bottom of the spring- board so that the rotating force on the drum is transferred into motion of the drum and cradle along the rails 24. The rails sit in grooves in the base of the cradle and both may be covered with a friction reducing material such as polytetrafluoroethylene. The drum may be ribbed along its length to increase its friction against the bottom of the springboard.
