Abstract

1,108,69. Hydraulic turbines. ESTABLISSE - MENTS NEYRPIC S. A. and J. M. VOITH G. m.b. H. Jan.23, 1967 [Jan.22, 1966], No.3382/67. Heading F1T. A two-stage hydraulic reaction turbine consists of one centripetal stage and one centrifugal stage. In one embodiment the centrifugal blades 5 and the centripetal blades 13 are mounted back to back on a common runner hub 6. First-stage blades 5 are supplied with water from a spiral casing 1 through fixed guide vanes 2, 4. The water leaving the first-stage flows through an annular chamber 10 and past fixed and adjustable guide-vanes 11, 12, respectively, before entering the second-stage blades 13 and exhausting through a suction bend 14. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), used for starting a pump-turbine, the first-stage has centripetal blades (18) and adjustable guide vanes (17) and the second-stage has centrifugal blades (23) and fixed guide-vanes (22).
