Abstract

1,146,575. Centrifugal pumps and compressors; turbines. MANNESMANN-MEER A.G. March 25, 1966 [April 12, 1965], No.13264/66. Headings F1C and F1T. A radial flow pump, compressor, turbine or the like having a volute chamber 9 and an annular energy conversion passage 7, has axially and independently adjustable walls 6, 8. The wall 8 is adjusted by a device 10 having a position indicating pin 12, and the wall 6 is adjusted by a device (not shown) positioned on centre line 11. The flow sections of the passage 7 and the chamber 9 may be adjusted proportionately. The wall 6 may be parallel to the casing wall 1. The pressures on opposite sides of the wall 6 are substantially balanced.
