Abstract
1,107,496. Press-button retractive switches. UNITED-CARR Inc. 9 Feb., 1967 [9 Feb., 1966], No. 6279/67. Heading H1N. A press-button switch comprises a movable coil spring contact 16, Fig. 2, with a smaller diameter portion 44 engaged by the inner end of the button 14 and a larger diameter portion 40 retained in recess 30 of an electrically conducting casing 22, an intermediate diameter portion 42 serving as the retractive spring for the press-button 14. The fixed contact is mounted in an insulating sleeve 18 inserted in the housing 22 to retain the spring 16 by its inner end 32. An optional latch is provided by a projection 14a on the button 14 sliding in an axial groove 24a in the housing and engageable for locking in a circumferential groove 14b by rotation of the press-button 14.
