1,104,883. Ear plugs. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. 22 Oct., 1965 [23 Oct., 1964], No. 43327/64. Heading A5R. An ear plug comprises a core 14 having a peripheral bladder 15, which is connected to a source of fluid pressure through a tube 18, whereby it may be expanded or collapsed to fit the ear tightly or slackly as required. A bore 19 extending through the core is connected to a tube 20 for conducting sound to the ear from a receiver. The core may be so shaped that it may be secured in the ear opening on expansion of the bladder, or may be held in the pinna against the ear opening by a spring head band (Fig. 2, not shown). Expansion of the bladder may be controlled by a barometric-pressure-sensitive device.
