Abstract

1,077,544. Tobacco pipes. I. I. POLLOCK. Dec. 28, 1963, No. 51097/63. Heading A2M. A tobacco pipe includes a detachable bowl 10, a bowl holding cup 11, and a stem 12 extending from the bowl holding cup, the bowl and cup being interconnected by a screw-threaded plug and socket connection. The cup 11 includes a threaded plug 11A while the bowl is provided with a threaded socket 10A. When threaded on to the plug the bowl seats on an annular edge portion 17 of the cup 11 to define a space 18. The space 18 communicates with the stem 12 and with the tobacco receiving portion of the bowl by means of bores 14 and 15 in the plug 11A. Alternatively, communication may be effected by means of an axial slot in the plug 11A (Fig. 2, not shown). A mouthpiece portion 13 is a push fit in the passage 19 and is formed with a cylindrical projection 13 which, with the surrounding portion of the stem 12, forms a "goo" trap 19A.
