Abstract

1,104,287. Filling aerosols. SPRAYON PRODUCTS INCORPORATED. 19 Oct., 1965 [30 Oct., 1964], No. 44220/65. Addition to 1,103,083. Heading B8T. [Also in Division F1] In the apparatus of the parent Specification for charging aerosol dispensing containers by a piston 32 working in a cylinder 90 to pump liquid from a reservoir 81 into the aerosol dispensing container 11 through its discharge valve 11a, a ball valve 84 is displaced from its seat 83 when a container is mounted in the apparatus, and returns to its seat when the container is removed, to prevent drip. The seat 83 provides a seal around the container valve. The container is located in the apparatus by balls 64 pressed into engagement with the contamer rim by a spring-loaded sleeve 54. The pump assembly is located in its stand 15 by a spring-loaded ball 46. The container valve stem is provided with a notch 74 to permit flow past the ball 84. The pump may be used with or without the disposable liner 90, which may be of translucent plastic.
