Abstract

Apparatus for drawing air currents through cotton-opening and blowing room machinery comprises open-ended ducts extending from each machine to a common filter (or two adjacent such filters) or to individual filters, constituting a group thereof, located on the low pressure side of a fan (or two such fans) or of individual associated and correspondingly grouped fans. A secondary filter may be located on the high pressure side of the or each fan. The or each filter may be replaced by a settling chamber or an air washer. A manually or automatically operable damper is connected with each duct at the low pressure side of the or its filter to enable regulation of the vacuum created at the inlet thereof and consequently in the machine.
