Abstract

1,094,482. Blast nozzles. W. HUFNAGL. Feb. 5, 1965 [Feb. 6, 1964], No. 5101/65. Heading F4B. A blast nozzle for the introduction of gaseous, liquid or pulverent media into a metal melt comprises at least in part a number of capillary tubes. The tubes made by extrusion and sintering from metallic substances, ceramics, carbides or nitrides may be clustered together in circular or annular formations or else spaced apart, the interspaces forming passages for cooling or introduced media. The tubes may be rectilinear, dog-legged, V-shaped or 8-shaped or follow a spiral or helical configuration. They may also be of different lengths.
