Abstract
1,092,370. Mixing solids and flowing liquid. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. Aug. 23, 1966 [Sept. 15, 1965], No. 37773/66. Heading B1C. [Also in Division F1] Apparatus for metering and mixing powder into a liquid flow comprises a pair of intermeshing gears 11, 12 situated in a gear chamber 8 into which opens a powder hopper 9; liquid passes through the gear chamber from an inlet chamber 7 to an outlet chamber 16; the powder is metered and distributed in the liquid by the gears and is prevented from returning to the gear chamber by apertures as at 17 (see also Fig. 4 not shown). The gears may be driven by a motor the speed of which is controlled by a flowmeter in the liquid flow.
