Abstract

1,091,127. Blow moulding. SPINNFASER A.G. April 23, 1965 [April 25, 1964], No. 17279/65. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] A closed end thermoplastic tube is located between the stationary and movable plates 1 and 2 of a press and is embraced by a two-part mould 5. Compressed air is then supplied through the passage 3 to expand the tube into conformity with the corrugated mould cavity and so form an expansion coupling. By subjecting the tube to axial compression between the plates 1 and 2 during blowing, the resulting expansion coupling has a substantially uniform wall thickness.
