1399383 Moulding hollow concrete elements F J BAUMELT 1 Sept 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 40552/72 Heading B5A A mould for concrete pipes comprises a female mould member 3, a core 2 having a flexible, fluid-tight, tubular lining 4, and an outer support wall 5 which also has a similarly fluid-tight lining 6; in use, the concrete 1 is compressed by inflation of the lining 4, simultaneous inflation of the lining 6 effecting support of the mould member 3. Air can be evacuated from the moulding cavity, during compression, through outlets provided in end cover members 9. Reinforcements 7 may be incorporated into the pipe. To accelerate setting of the concrete, the fluid employed to inflate the linings may be heated, as may the mould.
