Abstract

1,090,882. Automatic phase control systems. BLAUPUNKT-WERKE G.m.b.H. Feb. 12, 1965 [Feb. 15, 1964], No. 6094/65. Heading H3A. A television receiver sine-wave line oscillator 10 is frequency and phase controlled by the D.C. output of a phase detector 1 applied to a back biased variable capacity diode 4 shunting the frequency determining tuned circuit 8 of the oscillator and a limiter diode 14 is also connected across the timed circuit to clip and prevent the generated sine wave exceeding a voltage which would render the capacity diode 4 forwardly conductive. Thus, a small back bias, producing maximum capacity, and capacity variation, may be applied to the diode 4. Further, the diode 4 may be series connected as shown with an auto-transforming coil 18 extending from the tuning coil so that the effect of diode 4 on the tuning control is enhanced. The sine wave oscillator is connected through a parallel connection R.C. circuit 20 to the base of a driver transistor 21 driving a line output stage.
