Abstract

1279530 Automatic voltage control ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 17 Dec 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 59930/70 Heading G3R A voltage regulator comprises a main series transistor T1 providing a stabilized output voltage Ua, a transistor T2 whose emitter-base threshold voltage forms a reference voltage for comparison with the voltage derived from a tapping on divider R1, R2, and an auxiliary transistor T3 of opposite conductivity type to the other two transistors. The collector of transistor T3 may be connected to another tapping on the divider R1, R2 as shown, or to the end of this divider connected to the emitter of transistor T1, Fig. 2 (not shown) or to the same tapping point as the base of transistor T2, Fig. 3 (not shown). For D. C. stabilization, the base and collector of the transistor T1 are inter-connected by a resistor 3 and the variable D.C. voltage input is applied to the collector of this transistor. To generate a constant pulse-shaped voltage, an operating voltage is applied to the collector of transistor T1 and the pulse-shaped voltage to be controlled is applied to its base, if necessary by way of a series resistor. The pulse-shaped voltage may be the voltage in the control coil of a clock circuit or the IF signal of a VHF receiver. Details of these applications are described.
