Abstract

1,086,486. Sliding clasp fasteners. STAR FASTENERS OF CANADA Ltd. June 1, 1965 [March 15, 1965], No. 23319/65. Heading E2S. A locking slider 14 comprises spaced body members 15, 16 providing a substantially Y- shaped channel therebetween, a slot 24a through one body member and extending from a recess 24 adjacent the centre, channel of the Y - shaped channel, a locking member 26 having one end 26a located in a second recess 23a in the body member and the other end comprising a locking prong 28, extending inwardly through the slot 24a, the locking member having- a substantially U-shaped portion 27 extending outwardly therefrom, a pull tab 29 having a slot 30 adjacent one end thereof, the end of the pull tab adjacent its slot being positioned within the U-shaped portion 27 of the locking member, the distance between the slot in the pull tab and its adjacent end being greater than the height of the U- shaped portion, whereby when the pull tab is positioned perpendicular to the slider body, the locking prong 28 is withdrawn from the central channel of the slider. In another arrangement, Fig. 10 (not shown) stops are provided on the slider body to prevent complete withdrawal of the locking prong from the slider body.
