A leaf spring, more particularly for arrangement in the longitudinal direction of a motor vehicle, is clamped between two spring plates 11, 5 secured together by two U-bolts 14 and, in the clamping region, is engaged by supports 2, 3 and straddled by a U-shaped yoke 12 which is engaged by the spring plate 5 and secured to the spring plate 11 by screws 13. The supports 2, 3 are shorter in the lengthwise direction of the spring than the distance between the U- bolts 14 and comprise an extension of the spring plate 11 and a separate element respectively. The individual spring leaves 1 are provided with interengaging depressions and projections 4.
