906,123. Springs. MARKLAND, J. May 30, 1961 [May 30, 1960], No. 19032/60. Class 108(3). A spring support device, e.g. for mounting the exhaust systems of motor vehicles, comprises a compression spring 1 having a turn 2 at each end of reduced diameter for clamping between nuts 4, 5 on studs 3, the nuts 5 being not more than 1/16th of an inch thick to allow for adjustment of the spring along the studs. The nuts 5, which are in the form of thin plates, may be replaced by spring clips which engage with the threads of the studs. A U-shaped rod, or leaf, spring may replace the helical coil spring 1.
