Abstract

1,083,452. Reinforcement supporting devices. NEOLITH Ltd. March 26, 1964 [March 27, 1963], No. 12044/63. Heading E1W. A reinforcement spacer for use in reinforced concrete floors is formed from a T-shaped sheet metal blank by folding the arms 15 at an angle to the stem 16, the arms having slots 17 formed in their upper edges. The lower part 19 of the stem may be L-shaped as shown in Fig. 2, with a hole 21 in the, horizontal flange, which flange may be turned down after the concrete has set, to form a suspension point for, e.g., a suspended ceiling. The lower part 19 may be a simple downstanding flange (Fig. 1, not shown), and a hole may be provided through the stem 16 instead of the slot 18 shown, either allowing for the passage of concrete between the reinforcement 14. The formers 10 shown in Fig. 5 abut each other to form channels 13 into which the concrete is poured, but spaced formers may be used (Fig. 6, not shown), with other beams as temporary shuttering supporting the edges of the formers.
